A day on the farm

5.27.2011

Today I took the boys to a local dairy. Our MOM's club had planned this and it turned out to be a perfect day for walking around a farm: 60's and overcast, farm perfection.

The boys were wild, but I guess that is just the norm for us.  We were thrilled to see Evie, though CD tried to hug the daylights out of her and knocked her to the ground by accident:( These little ones love each other so much and it is so sweet.

We walked along with our group, checked out the cows (who are all named, with mostly famous names, and these are some fabulous cows), went into the milking facility, and into the barn with some 2 and 3 day old calves. I can't tell you how sweet  they are.  This may have been the one moment when the boys got still for a millisecond.  One of the farm people fed a calf a bottle and it was too sweet.  I loved being on the farm!! Loved!! (even though the boys were crazy!!)

Our tour guide had lots of interesting information to share, but unfortunately I was only able to catch bits and pieces.  We tried some delicious chocolate milk at the end of our tour (CD and I did, CJ told them he preferred water, thank you) and were on our way.  It was a great experience:)

I've been trying to use my camera on manual and it is slightly challenging for a somewhat blind girl to tell when something is focus.  So most of my pictures are blurry.  Phooey!

This is Mocha. What a pretty cow, right?

Loved this guy. Aren't horses so soulful? I just love them.

Have a wonderful weekend!
