My sister in law has a special birthday today -- the BIG 3-0 -- Happy Birthday Aunt Sarah! This is your year!

I saw this recipe for Chocolate Lasagna on Hungry Runner Girl and I can't stop thinking about it..

I wandered into JCrew Factory last week and they were having 50% off of the entire store. I picked up this faded chambray shirt that I love.. I'm obsessed with the popover shirts. I wanted a boat load of other items but I was a good girl and didn't buy it all.

Finally got in a good long run yesterday. My training is out of whack because of all our sickness.

We've been eating more salmon lately and this recipe with miso paste is easy and foolproof..2 TBSP of each; red miso paste, brown sugar, mirin, and soy sauce. Whisk together, spread it onto the salmon and bake, so quick and yummy! Original recipe here (I replaced sake with mirin). P.S. A bottle of wine jumped into the picture, it's a red blend called Drops of Jupiter (I believe the company is partly owned by the band Train) and it's really good;)

Fashion Friday: the boys' clothes and some finds

Whew, that's a long title!

First, JCrew Factory has some really cute tees right now at amazing prices.  Three of these tees are under $30.  The ruffle neck tee is $12.50! I live in these in the summer. Makes me want to grab my flip flops and head to the beach. Spring, please come soon!

Second, on our visit to Virginia my mom got all of the boys' spring clothes. For those who haven't heard me share this before, mom's friend owns an adorable children's boutique and she gets a great deal on precious clothes for the boys.  I'm always so grateful because I love dressing the boys this way and couldn't do it without her! {Thank you again Mom} Her boutique is not online but I listed the brands if anyone's interested:)

Valentine's Day hodge podge

Happy Valentine's Day!  I've been running all over the place this week.  We've been up to our necks with school projects, Valentines, you name it.  So it looks like today is random, we have some catching up to do!

I picked up the cutest blouse from F21 yesterday.. sporting it today of course.

Another OOTD from yesterday..

While at Target this week (my home away from home) I noticed this adorable Nate Berkus fruit bowl thingie..on the clearance shelf no less(??!) I had to pick it up. I was getting tired of moving flowers off the table so that I could see my children. And good news, they keep eating the oranges!

Speaking of my sweet boys I walked in on this the other day.  How precious. Normally when the house is quiet I know trouble is lurking but not this day. They had created a little reading lounge. My heart skipped a beat!

We're jumping on another bandwagon and loving every minute of it..

I'm late reporting on the Grammy Awards but I surely did love Adam Levine and Alicia Keys. Wow.

And our plans for this evening.... we don't go crazy on Valentine's Day.  We'll make a nice little dinner, give the kiddos some treats, and cozy up on the couch for Skyfall, I've been dying to see it.  My idea of a perfect night!
