Summer snapshots

Just a few for today.  We were outside blowing bubbles one day and Little C was pouting because I wouldn't let him pour out more bubble "juice".  I love his eyes in this one and his wispy hair.

I *love* the blues and oranges.  I'm in a fall mindset at the moment and I'm loving to mix patterns as well. At sunset my favorite place to be is sitting in an adirondack chair next to Mr. C enjoying a glass of wine and watching our boys play.  Hopefully we're sharing laughs with some friends.  Or maybe we'll go to that vineyard we've been wanting to visit for a little wine tasting....

Polyvore often makes me dream big but I think this outfit could be easily copied for less.  I'm loving boyfriend jeans right now and that sassy blue python Stella & Dot bracelet.  Gotta have the pops of orange too:)

Things that make me say Yay!

Is it Thursday already? I'm so glad.

Do y'all do Groopdealz?  This chevron clutch was on there for $22 yesterday. I love it.  Yay for cute purses.

My sweet friend brought me these yesterday!  Yay!  She makes them and they rock.  I am a happy girl with some cute new hair ties.

And guess what friends? Remember here when I shared that "swings" photo of my son in a contest at Ni Hao Y'all?  I'm not kidding, I WON!  I've never even won a candy bar, much less something that means so much to me.  I am so flattered that Stefanie chose my photo because I am always inspired by her photography.  A great big virtual hug to you Stefanie for making me feel like there might be a shred of talent in this body.  And congrats to her also for making the I Heart Faces top 10 this week. I'm reading this book via Christina's recommendation.  

I'm not done yet but I can tell you that this will be one of my all time favorite books.  Amazing story and wonderful writing.  Love love love.  Yay for great books!

Clothes for the littles

My mom has a good friend who owns a children's boutique in Virginia.  She gets a great deal on clothes for the boys and when every spring and fall roll around she gets one of everything in their size and ships me a wardrobe for each of them.  I know--I feel really blessed and I always give my mom shout outs for this. Thank you Mom!!!!!!  I love dressing them in cute little clothes but I'd never be able to do it (the way I want:) without her.  Kisses to you Mama!

Here's what the boys will be sporting this fall.

My favorites are always the Bailey Boys and Funtasia, which Mr. C calls froo froo, but I love appliques.

Front and back, so cute!

Eland is a cute brand that has a bigger boy look. This is Mr. C's favorite.  I love it too--cannot wait to dress them up in flannels and jeans!

Mulberribush has cute soft tees.  The boys love these.

Of course there's always a guitar tee shirt to represent Nashville.  This is a brand called GNU. It's new to me but really soft, I like it a lot.

The boys' favorites are the spooky Halloween tees of course.

And that's it--just need some shoes and we're all set! Thanks again Mom;)

Tuesday randoms

I wore my sunshine pants the other night with a cute sparkly top from Loft.

These are delicious.  They remind me of the cheesy pretzelly taste of combos, which I love but try not to eat because I finish a bag once it's open.  I'm hoping these are the slightest bit better for me.  Warning: they're a little spicy.

If you're a Hudson fan (I am) Haute Look has them for $99 through tomorrow. I'm frugal about most things but I'll invest in good denim (except for the colorful denim, I go cheap on that because they won't be in style forever).  Faves: collin flap skinny and signature bootcut

Could not help but laugh when I passed by this display at Home Depot.  Paging Christian Grey.  They even have neon cable ties, weird! I'll never look at cable ties the same way again.

When we went back to the fair with my parents I finally got to ride the Cyclops, woo hoo!  I was too scared last year, then I was ready for it this year and they wouldn't let me ride because of my sandals.  I came back prepared though;  mission accomplished! It was as awesome as I knew it would be.  I had to ride by myself because Mr. C was a big chicken;) Kidding honey.

And finally, how cute is the hubs in critter shorts? I'd better cook a good dinner tonight after this post..

Weekend update: Nana spoiled us

It was so good to spend time with my mom and dad this weekend and the boys love playing with Nana and Papa. It's been a while since I've seen them (the hard thing about living far away from home) and it just makes me feel better to be near them.  I'll admit my mom still spoils me.  Like all girls, when we get together we love to shop!  I scored some fun loot (and so did the boys, Nana brought along with her their *entire* Fall wardrobe, squeal, it's so cute, can't wait to share:).

Little C got a new bike.  He loves it so much.  I know he'll be riding without training wheels soon.

Mr. C and I even snuck out for a sushi datenight on Saturday.  I was so sad when Nana and Papa left but we had a great weekend. Hope you did too!

Sunday Snapshot

With some encouragement from my friends I'm sharing this photo again!  It's my little guy on the swings at the fair (back right).  As I mentioned, he hated the swings once the ride started moving and was so scared he gave mommy a heart attack.  I was so relieved when this ride ended!  Somehow we got a picture though.  We went back to the fair yesterday and when we parked he said "I do NOT want to ride the swings, okay?"    Bless his heart, it traumatized both of us!
